Designed specifically for executives, managers, startup leaders and solopreneurs, this course dives into the powerful intersection of Culture, Leadership, and Narrative, three cornerstones of a thriving business.
The morning session focuses on leadership development, grounded in the proven connection between workplace culture and financial performance. Participants will learn how to intentionally cultivate a culture of happiness and engagement that drives results, reduces burnout, and increases retention. Whether leading a team or preparing to scale, you’ll gain concrete strategies to build and maintain a workplace people want to be part of.
A key component of the morning is a “train the trainer” approach, equipping founders and team leads with the tools to teach others how to lead with intention, emotional intelligence, and cultural clarity. You’ll also explore how to recognize and celebrate your own achievements, a vital but often-overlooked practice for maintaining personal well-being when the pressures of entrepreneurship mount. The goal is to help you lead with resilience, optimism, and authenticity.
In the afternoon, the focus shifts to narrative, both personal and professional. You’ll learn how to craft and deliver a compelling pitch that reflects the mission, values, and potential of your business. Through live, personalized coaching in a supportive group setting, every participant will refine their pitch, whether seeking funding, recruiting talent, or building your brand.
By the end of the day, you’ll walk away with the tools to lead an engaged, high-performing team and the narrative clarity to communicate your vision with impact.

Your Facilitator
Valerie Alexander is a globally recognized speaker, author, and thought leader on workplace happiness, inclusive leadership, and the advancement of women. She also serves as the Entrepreneur-in-Residence for Culture, Leadership and Narrative for the Atlanta-area startup incubator, Launch Fayette.
Known for her dynamic stage presence and ability to blend humor, neuroscience, and real-world insight, Valerie helps organizations unlock the power of happiness and inclusion to fuel performance, innovation, and retention.
She has delivered transformative keynotes for Fortune 500 companies, global conferences and government agencies including NASA, the CDC, the Air National Guard, and the U.S. Naval Academy. Her TED Talk, How to Outsmart Your Own Unconscious Bias, has been viewed over a million times and is used as a training tool in boardrooms and classrooms around the world.
Before becoming a leading voice on culture and leadership, Valerie worked in the Silicon Valley as a corporate securities lawyer, investment banker, tech executive, and the founder and CEO of Goalkeeper, a startup focused on communication, happiness and connection. Following that, she moved to Los Angeles, where her work as a screenwriter and director includes the Hallmark movie, Memories of Christmas, along with multiple award-winning advocacy campaigns in support of marriage equality.
Valerie is the bestselling author of Happiness as a Second Language, Success as a Second Language, and How Women Can Succeed in the Workplace, and she holds the Registered Trademark on the phrase, “…as a Second Language” for self-help books, publishing works by experts on parenting, grief, creativity and mindfulness, with more in the pipeline.
