The ABC’s of Grant Writing is an overview of the grant writing process, with a focus on identifying practical projects and funding applicable solutions. Grant funding can be a viable funding stream, but it takes a planned and deliberate approach.
Class participants will learn how to outline the grant process: identify viable projects, locate appropriate funders, and learn how to create a narrative that tells the story of the organization and the opportunity it seeks. The class will include a presentation, active discussion, example exercises (including a draft budget!) and other tools to make their project a competitive grant application.
The course will be interactive & participatory, with students engaged in project descriptions and mock budget discussions. By the end of the session, students will have the concept and design of an impactful project, along with drafted materials.
