Description
Intimate Partner Violence is one of the most common sources of workplace violence, yet it remains one of businesses greatest risks. This session shows how violence at home becomes danger at work, using current research, case data, and threat-assessment principles to help business owners identify early warning behaviors, understand spillover risk, and support vulnerable employees. Attendees will learn how to recognize escalating behavior, apply structured response protocols, coordinate with security and leadership, and build practical safety plans that protect both the employee and the organization. This session provides professionals with clear, actionable steps they can implement immediately to reduce risk, strengthen reporting, and improve organizational readiness.
Learning Outcomes:
- Participants will be able to identify the behavioral warning signs and escalation patterns associated with Intimate Partner Violence, including triggering events, pre-attack behaviors, and indicators of spillover risk in workplace settings.
- Participants will be able to apply a structured response framework to IPV disclosures and concerns, including how to document information, coordinate with security or threat-assessment resources, and develop individualized safety plans that protect both the employee and the organization.
- Participants will be able to evaluate perpetrator risk factors and victim vulnerabilities using evidence-based threat assessment concepts, enabling HR to better assess the likelihood and severity of potential workplace impact.
